The Role
Workforce Data Officer
Closing Date: 19th April 2026
Interview date: 6th/7th/8th May 2026
Who are UK Sport?
We are the UK’s trusted high-performance experts, powering our greatest athletes, teams, sports and events to achieve positive success. Investing a combination of National Lottery and Government funds, we support our Olympic and Paralympic sports to realise their world-leading potential and help bring major sporting events to the UK. Our purpose is to lead high-performance sport to enable extraordinary moments that enrich lives.
We are on a mission – to create the greatest decade of extraordinary sporting moments; reaching, inspiring and uniting the nation. That mission is underpinned by three ambitions for UK high-performance sport; to keep winning and win well, to grow a thriving sporting system and to harness those to inspire positive change. Working with the sports and events we fund, DCMS, and our partner organisations across the UK high-performance system, we are building on 25 years of ever-growing success to write the UK’s next chapter for Olympic and Paralympic sport.
About the role:
As a Workforce Data Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and coordination of workforce data across the high‑performance system. You’ll collect and prepare datasets, support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, and play a key part in delivering the system‑wide Workforce Audit.
Working closely with the Workforce Analyst, you’ll help maintain reliable datasets across recruitment, talent, learning, pathways and performance, ensuring partners across NGBs, UKSI, and internal teams have what they need to make informed decisions. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, has great attention to detail, and wants to grow their skills within a people‑focused, mission‑driven environment.
Who will I be working with?
You will work day‑to‑day with the Workforce Analyst, as well as colleagues across Performance & People department, UKSI partners, NGBs and wider stakeholders who contribute to workforce data and insights.
About you
You’re someone who enjoys working with data and takes pride in getting the details right. You feel confident collecting, organising and checking datasets, and you’re comfortable using Excel or similar tools to produce clean tables and simple reports. You bring a calm, organised approach to juggling tasks, and you enjoy supporting others by keeping information accurate, accessible and easy to use. You communicate clearly, build positive working relationships, and feel confident explaining what data is needed and why. You don’t need deep analytics experience; what matters most is accuracy, curiosity, reliability and a willingness to learn how data supports better decisions across recruitment, development and workforce planning. If you enjoy structured work, like being part of a collaborative team, and care about supporting a high‑performance system through high‑quality data, this role is a great fit.
As you’ll see in the more detailed Job Description, we are looking for an exceptional candidate who will naturally collaborate with others. In return, we will be there with you every step of the way. Come join us and be part of the heartbeat of high-performance sport in the UK.
