Who are UK Sport?

We are the UK’s trusted high-performance experts, powering our greatest athletes, teams, sports and events to achieve positive success. Investing a combination of National Lottery and Government funds, we support our Olympic and Paralympic sports to realise their world-leading potential and help bring major sporting events to the UK. Our purpose is to lead high-performance sport to enable extraordinary moments that enrich lives.

We are on a mission to create the greatest decade of extraordinary sporting moments; reaching, inspiring and uniting the nation. That mission is underpinned by three ambitions for UK high-performance sport; to keep winning and win well, to grow a thriving sporting system and to harness those to inspire positive change. Working with the sports and events we fund, DCMS, and our partner organisations across the UK high-performance system, we are building on 25 years of ever-growing success to write the UK’s next chapter for Olympic and Paralympic sport.

About the role

As Sporting System Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting the Sporting System Team to deliver projects and programmes that help build strong, effective sports organisations and a thriving sporting system at the heart of British Olympic and Paralympic high-performance sport. Working closely with the System Master Planning Manager and wider team, you will provide proactive, high-quality administrative, project coordination and programme support.

The role supports the coordination and delivery of team and cross-organisational priorities, particularly UK Sport’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability strategies. The postholder will maintain delivery plans, track progress and insights, support governance and reporting, coordinate meetings and partner engagement, and help ensure actions, evidence and emerging issues are recorded and communicated effectively.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across UK Sport, the EDI Advisory Panel, National Governing Bodies, Sports Councils and other external partners, the postholder will help deliver joined-up activity across the sporting system. Through strong organisation, clear communication and a proactive approach, the role will support effective planning, administration and continuous improvement across team projects, grant programmes, budgets, contracts, events and workshops.

Who will I be working with?

This role supports our hybrid working approach, with regular office attendance required in line with team and organisational expectations.

You enjoy working with colleagues and external partners, coordinating meetings and activity, and turning information, actions and insights into practical actions that supports effective delivery.

You’re collaborative, dependable and committed to inclusion and continuous improvement, with the confidence to work with senior colleagues, use your initiative and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience coordinating projects, programmes or strategic priorities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to work with senior colleagues, using sound judgement and discretion.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to use your initiative and work independently.
  • A commitment to inclusion and the ability to travel within the UK when required.

It’s a bonus if you also have:

  • An understanding of the UK sporting landscape and system developments.
  • An interest in EDI, environmental sustainability or other cross-organisational priorities.
  • Confidence working with data, reports and information to support decision making.
